ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how diabetes, particularly type 2 diabetes, can affect brain health and lead to problems with thinking and memory, known as mild cognitive impairment. Researchers want to find early signs of brain changes using advanced brain imaging techniques. They are looking to see if these signs are linked to changes in thinking skills and if people at risk of developing diabetes can be tracked over time to see if they actually do develop the condition.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be between the ages of 14 and 23, have had at least six years of education, and not have dementia. They must also be able to give informed consent and have blood sugar levels that meet specific criteria. Participants can expect to undergo brain imaging tests and assessments of their thinking skills, which will help researchers better understand the relationship between diabetes and brain health. It's important to note that pregnant women and those with serious brain diseases or certain medical conditions that prevent them from undergoing the imaging tests will not be eligible to join the study.
