ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how bone health and muscle strength in patients on chronic dialysis relate to complications like fractures and other health issues. Researchers want to find out if bone density (how strong your bones are) and muscle mass can help predict these problems in people with chronic kidney disease. They will also look at how certain hormones and minerals in the blood affect bone health and muscle strength in these patients.

To participate in this study, individuals must be over 20 years old and undergoing chronic dialysis, either through hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. Participants will have their bone density and body composition measured using a special scan called DXA at the start of the study and again after one year. They will also have blood tests to check levels of important substances related to bone health. Throughout the study, their muscle strength and physical performance will be monitored at different times. This research aims to improve understanding of how to better care for patients on dialysis and reduce their risk of serious complications.
