ClinConnect Summary
The OCEAN Registry is a clinical trial that aims to explore how obesity, our body’s internal clock (circadian rhythm), and aging are connected. Researchers are particularly interested in understanding how these factors might influence each other and lead to conditions like cardiovascular disease. The study will involve participants of different weight categories, including those with obesity and those with a normal weight, who will be followed for several years. During this time, researchers will collect various types of information, including health questionnaires, biological samples, and detailed clinical data.
To participate, you need to be at least 20 years old and have a body mass index (BMI) of 24 or higher, or a BMI lower than 24 if you are a normal-weight individual. Unfortunately, people who cannot give their consent, are on steroid medications, or have severe health issues with a limited life expectancy cannot participate. If you choose to join, you will have the opportunity to contribute to important research that could help improve our understanding of how obesity and our body’s natural rhythms affect our health as we age.
