ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different factors affect the healing and long-term outcomes of fractures in the lower end of the tibia (the shinbone) in children. These types of fractures, known as epiphyseal fractures, are common and can lead to issues like growth problems and joint deformities if not treated properly. The study aims to gather information from multiple hospitals to understand how factors like the cause of the injury and the initial position of the bone after the fracture influence recovery and future ankle function.
To participate in the study, children must have a fresh, closed fracture that occurred within the last week. They should not have any other injuries or significant health issues that could affect their recovery. Parents or guardians will need to provide consent for their child to join. During the study, children will be monitored over time to track their progress. This research has received ethical approval, ensuring that it follows strict guidelines to protect the participants, and will help improve treatment options for future patients with similar injuries.
