ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of group therapy using a method called cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help people with trichotillomania, a condition where individuals feel an uncontrollable urge to pull out their hair. The trial is taking place at three sites in Norway and is currently looking for participants. To be eligible, you need to be between 16 and 67 years old and have a clinical diagnosis of trichotillomania. However, if you have certain conditions like schizophrenia, severe personality disorders, or ongoing suicidal thoughts, you may not be able to participate.
If you join this trial, you will take part in group sessions that aim to teach you skills to manage your hair-pulling behavior better. This could be a supportive environment where you can share experiences and learn from others facing similar challenges. Participating in this study could not only help you but also contribute to understanding how to better treat trichotillomania.
