ClinConnect Summary
The Prospective Research Rare Kidney Stones (ProRKS) trial is studying different hereditary conditions that can lead to kidney stones and chronic kidney disease. The goal is to understand how these conditions affect patients over time by measuring certain markers in blood and urine. By comparing the experiences of different groups, researchers hope to learn more about how these diseases cause kidney problems.
To participate in this study, individuals need to have a diagnosis of one of the following conditions: primary hyperoxaluria, enteric hyperoxaluria, Dent Disease, cystinuria, adenine phosphoribosyltransferase deficiency (APRTd), or Lowe Syndrome. It's important to note that people who have had kidney failure or have received a liver or kidney transplant are not eligible. Participants will undergo tests to measure their health markers and will help researchers gather valuable information that could improve understanding and treatment of these conditions.
