ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "B Cell Functions in Periodontitis," is studying the role of certain immune cells called B lymphocytes in patients with gum diseases, specifically chronic and aggressive periodontitis. Researchers want to understand how these B cells behave in the blood and gums of people with varying levels of gum disease. By analyzing different types of B cells, they hope to find patterns that could help predict how the disease progresses and how patients respond to treatments. This information could lead to more personalized care for patients suffering from periodontitis.
To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 18 and 75, in good health, and require periodontal surgery. You'll also need to give your consent to join. However, certain people, such as minors, those who have recently taken antibiotics, or patients with specific health conditions, aren’t eligible. If you decide to join, you can expect to undergo tests that will help researchers gather important information about your immune response and how it relates to your gum health. Overall, this trial aims to improve our understanding of gum disease and enhance future treatments.
