ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different types of masks used during Adaptive Servo Ventilation (ASV) treatment affect sleep quality in patients with central sleep apnea. Central sleep apnea is a condition where your breathing stops and starts during sleep due to a lack of signals from the brain. In this study, participants will use two types of masks: a nasal mask that covers just the nose and an oronasal mask that covers both the nose and mouth. Each participant will try one type of mask for one night and then switch to the other type the next night. The goal is to find out which mask helps improve sleep efficiency and overall sleep quality.
To be eligible for this trial, you must be between 65 and 74 years old and have central sleep apnea that hasn't improved with another treatment called CPAP. Unfortunately, if you're under 18 years old, you won't be able to participate. If you join the study, you'll help researchers learn how to choose the best type of mask for ASV treatment, which could help many patients sleep better in the future. This study is currently recruiting participants, so if you think you qualify, it might be a good opportunity to contribute to important research.
