ClinConnect Summary
The Lyon Cohort of Maternal and Congenital Toxoplasma Infections trial is studying the effects of Toxoplasma infection during pregnancy and how it can affect babies. Since 1985, France has had a national program to identify pregnant women who may be at risk for this infection, which can lead to serious health issues in newborns. The goal of this trial is to gather information about mothers and their babies who have been diagnosed with this infection, to better understand the risks, and to improve diagnosis and treatment options.
To participate in this trial, pregnant women must have a confirmed Toxoplasma infection that occurred during their pregnancy or in the 12 weeks before becoming pregnant. Participants can expect regular check-ups and tests for themselves and their babies, which will help doctors learn more about the infection's impact over time. This research aims to find better ways to diagnose and treat Toxoplasma infections and to explore how these infections may affect long-term health, including vision and other aspects of development. Your involvement can contribute to important discoveries that may help future families.
