ClinConnect Summary
The Dresden Glaucoma and Treatment Study (DGTS) is a clinical trial aimed at improving the understanding and treatment of different types of glaucoma, a condition that affects the eye and can lead to vision loss. The study involves collecting and analyzing information from patients who have been diagnosed with glaucoma, those at risk of developing it, or those with high eye pressure. The goal is to ensure that patients receive the best follow-up care possible.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosis of glaucoma, ocular hypertension (which means high pressure in the eye), or be considered a glaucoma suspect. Unfortunately, those with certain corneal diseases are not eligible to join. Participants can expect their information to be kept private and used to improve treatment strategies for glaucoma, benefiting future patients. The study is currently looking for volunteers of all genders.
