ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to improve the way we determine the right dose of warfarin, a common blood thinner used to treat and prevent blood clots, specifically for Hispanic and Latino patients. Since everyone's body responds differently to medications, it is crucial to find the correct dose to avoid serious problems like bleeding or blood clots. The study aims to identify specific genetic variations in Hispanic and Latino individuals that affect how much warfarin they need, as current dosing recommendations are mainly based on data from Caucasian populations and may not be accurate for everyone.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, identify as Hispanic or Latino, and have been receiving warfarin treatment with stable test results for at least two visits to your healthcare provider. If you decide to join, you can expect to provide information about your health and undergo genetic testing. This research could help tailor warfarin dosing for Hispanic and Latino patients in the future, making treatment safer and more effective for everyone.
