ClinConnect Summary
The INSIGHT trial is studying a kidney condition called IgA nephropathy (IgAN), which affects how well the kidneys work. Researchers are gathering information from patients who have been diagnosed with IgAN through a kidney biopsy. They will create a database to track these patients over time, checking their health every year. The goal is to understand more about IgAN by comparing important health outcomes, such as overall health and kidney function, among patients.
To participate in this study, patients must be at least 14 years old and have a biopsy that confirms they have primary IgAN. They need to have a suitable biopsy sample that includes enough kidney structures to analyze. Unfortunately, patients with certain other kidney-related conditions or very low kidney function at the time of the biopsy cannot take part. Those who join the study will help doctors learn more about IgAN and improve care for future patients.
