ClinConnect Summary
The ASSESS trial is a long-term study that looks at Primary Sjögren's Syndrome, an autoimmune condition that affects moisture-producing glands, leading to symptoms like dry mouth and dry eyes. Started in 2006, this study includes patients who meet specific criteria and aims to understand how this condition evolves over time and affects different parts of the body. It's being conducted at 15 centers across France and is set to continue for 20 years. Participants will fill out a detailed form each year about their health, which helps doctors track changes and determine the best ways to manage the disease.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have Primary Sjögren's Syndrome. However, those with Sjögren's Syndrome linked to other autoimmune diseases cannot join. If you participate, you can expect to contribute to important research that may help improve treatment and care for others with this condition in the future. Your participation is voluntary, and you will need to provide written consent to take part.
