ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the "Caprini Score in Venous Surgery," is looking at how well a scoring system called the Caprini score can help identify patients at risk for blood clots (known as venous thromboembolism or VTE) after surgery for varicose veins. The study focuses on patients undergoing different types of procedures, including endovascular laser treatment, radiofrequency ablation, and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy. By understanding who is at higher risk for developing blood clots after these surgeries, the researchers hope to improve patient care by providing preventive treatment, like blood thinners, to those who need it.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 18 years old and scheduled for any kind of varicose vein surgery. Participants will be followed for four weeks after their procedure, during which time they will have a check-up to look for signs of blood clots. It's important to note that if a participant cannot be reached for follow-up during this time, they will be excluded from the study. Overall, this trial aims to enhance our understanding of patient safety and improve outcomes after varicose vein surgery.
