ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a simple test that measures how long it takes a patient to walk 10 meters can help predict if they might need to return to the hospital after being discharged. The goal is to see if a patient’s walking speed is related to their risk of readmission after staying in the hospital for an illness.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be over 50 years old, able to go home or to a short-term nursing home after their hospital stay, and expected to live for at least 90 more days. They also need to be able to understand the instructions and give their consent to participate. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but when it does, those who join will take the walking test before they leave the hospital. This could help doctors understand more about patients’ recovery and how to prevent future hospital visits.
