ClinConnect Summary
The Shanghai High Myopia Study is looking into how well people with high myopia (a condition where the eye is too long, making it hard to see far away) do after having cataract surgery. Researchers want to understand not only the results of the surgery but also what genetic and environmental factors might lead to cataracts in patients with high myopia. This study includes a large group of participants to gather comprehensive data on this topic.
If you're considering joining this trial, you need to have a clinical diagnosis of cataract and be able to participate in eye examinations. Unfortunately, individuals with mental illness or disabilities that affect their ability to cooperate with the study will not be eligible. Participants can expect to contribute to important research while receiving care related to their cataracts. The study is currently recruiting people aged between 20 and 70, so if you or a family member fit this description, you might want to learn more about participating.
