ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how common heart diseases are among new naval cadets and how factors like physical activity, eating habits, and mental health (like anxiety and depression) change over time. Starting in 2014, all first-year cadets at naval academies will be part of this study until the class of 2025. Researchers will conduct physical exams, ask about diet and exercise habits, assess mental health through questionnaires, and perform blood tests. Participants will be interviewed every three years to track any changes.
To be eligible for this study, cadets must be newly appointed first-year students, and they should agree to participate by signing a consent form. Throughout the study, participants can expect regular check-ins every three years, which will help researchers gather important information about their health and lifestyle over a ten-year period after the last class is enrolled. This study aims to provide valuable insights into heart health and related factors in naval personnel.
