ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how often bleeding occurs in patients who are connected to a special heart-lung machine called ECMO, which helps patients with severe heart or breathing problems. The researchers want to understand if the type of ECMO used affects the amount of bleeding and how this relates to a specific condition called von Willebrand Disease, which can affect blood clotting. They are looking for patients aged 65 to 74 who have been admitted to Lille University Hospital and are receiving ECMO treatment.
To participate in the trial, patients need to give their consent or have someone make the decision for them, and they must be covered by French social security. Patients who are pregnant or have other bleeding disorders will not be able to join. If eligible, participants can expect to be part of a study that could help improve understanding of bleeding complications in ECMO patients, which could lead to better care in the future.
