Furosemide Stress Test Kidney Transplantation Urine Output Perioperation Delayed Graft Function

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a medication called furosemide, which is commonly used after kidney transplants, can help predict how well a new kidney will function. The researchers want to see how much urine is produced after giving a specific dose of furosemide to patients who have received a kidney from a deceased donor. They believe that measuring this urine output can provide important information about the health of the transplanted kidney during recovery.

To be eligible for this trial, participants should be receiving a kidney transplant from a deceased donor at KCMH and must be willing to give their consent to join the study. However, individuals with a known allergy to furosemide, those who have complications from the surgery, or those who urgently need dialysis (a treatment for kidney failure) cannot participate. If you join the trial, you will receive furosemide, and the team will monitor how much urine your body produces afterward, helping researchers understand the kidney's performance in the days following the transplant.
