ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Scoliosis Shared Decision Making," is looking at how patients, families, and healthcare providers can work together to make decisions about treating scoliosis, a condition where the spine curves abnormally. The study will analyze video conversations to develop a helpful tool that guides patients in deciding between two main treatment options: surgery or simply monitoring the condition.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be 13 years or older and have a scoliosis curve that is more than 40 degrees but less than 65 degrees, along with a Risser score greater than 2, which indicates skeletal maturity. Unfortunately, those with lower Risser scores, younger than 13, or who cannot walk are not eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to participate in discussions that will help improve how decisions about scoliosis treatment are made in the future. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a better understanding of patient preferences in scoliosis care.
