ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective daily electronic reminders can be in helping patients remember to wear their orthodontic elastics, which are important for straightening teeth. These elastics need to be worn as directed to ensure the best results from braces. The researchers believe that using a mobile app to send reminders can help patients follow these instructions more closely, potentially leading to better treatment outcomes and shorter overall treatment time.
To participate in this study, you need to be someone currently using fixed braces with specific elastics for at least 6 weeks and have a smartphone with a calendar or reminder app. The study is open to everyone aged 10 to 20, regardless of gender. Participants will receive daily reminders through the app to encourage them to wear their elastics as instructed. It’s also important to know that individuals who have plans for jaw surgery or have certain facial disorders are not eligible to join.
