ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding sarcoidosis, a condition that causes inflammation and can affect various organs, especially the lungs. Researchers are particularly interested in how changes in genes and the environment might influence the immune system's response in people with sarcoidosis. By studying immune cells from participants, the team hopes to identify specific markers that could help to better diagnose and treat the disease in the future.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between 18 and 85 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of sarcoidosis, either through a biopsy or through typical symptoms. Those who suspect they have sarcoidosis and are scheduled for a biopsy may also qualify. However, individuals who are currently smoking, have recently used certain medications that suppress the immune system, are pregnant, or cannot participate in the study procedures will not be included. Participants can expect to undergo some tests and procedures to help researchers gather important information about their immune system and how it relates to sarcoidosis. This study aims to improve our understanding of the disease and potentially lead to better treatment options in the future.
