ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a method called ovarian tissue cryopreservation, which is a way to preserve a girl’s fertility before she undergoes cancer treatment that could harm her ability to have children in the future. This study is specifically for young girls, including those as young as 2 months old, who are at high risk of infertility due to certain cancer treatments. If a girl is undergoing aggressive treatments that could damage her ovaries, the doctors can collect and freeze a piece of her ovarian tissue. This tissue can potentially be used later to help her have children after her cancer treatment.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be girls aged 2 months or older who are facing treatments known to be very harmful to their reproductive health, such as high doses of certain chemotherapy drugs or radiation. The trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to not only help preserve fertility but also to gather important information and resources for future research. If a girl joins the trial, her health will be monitored over time, and her data will be recorded to help improve care for future patients.
