ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to prevent a serious eye infection called endophthalmitis that can occur after cataract surgery. Researchers want to see if injecting a solution called 0.1% moxifloxacin directly into the eye during surgery can help protect patients from this infection. The trial is still in the planning stages and will be open to participants of any age who have cataracts that significantly affect their vision. However, people who are allergic to certain medications, like fluoroquinolones or vitamin B12, cannot participate.
If you or a loved one join this trial, you can expect to receive the injection during cataract surgery. The goal is to determine how safe and effective this treatment is in preventing endophthalmitis. Participating in this study could contribute to important research that may improve the care of future cataract surgery patients.
