ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the composition of blood clots, known as thrombus, relates to different types of strokes and their treatments. Researchers are particularly interested in how the makeup of the clot affects recovery and outcomes for patients who have had an ischemic stroke, which happens when a blood vessel in the brain becomes blocked. By examining the clots that are removed during a procedure called thrombectomy (a method to remove the blockage), the study aims to better understand what makes some strokes different from others and how this can help improve treatment options.
To participate in the trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have suffered a stroke caused by an arterial blockage, and you should have undergone a thrombectomy where the clot can be collected for analysis. This study is currently looking for participants, and anyone who joins can expect to provide a sample of their clot for research purposes. It's important to note that women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as individuals under legal protection, cannot participate. By contributing to this study, participants will help researchers gain valuable insights that could lead to better stroke treatments in the future.
