ClinConnect Summary
The Swiss Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (SCCSS) is a research project that aims to understand the long-term effects of childhood cancer and its treatments on those who survived. The study focuses on how these survivors, diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20, are doing years later in terms of their quality of life, health care experiences, and physical and emotional health. To gather this information, researchers send out questionnaires to childhood cancer survivors, asking about their health, lifestyle, and background. The findings will help doctors and patients improve future treatments and follow-up care for childhood cancer survivors.
To participate in this study, individuals must have been diagnosed with cancer when they were younger than 20, have lived at least five years after their diagnosis, and be residents of Switzerland at the time of their diagnosis. Anyone who meets these criteria and agrees to take part can help contribute valuable insights to improve care for future patients. Participants can expect to fill out questionnaires about their health and experiences, which will be used to enhance understanding and treatment of childhood cancer.
