ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether a special procedure called bronchoscopy can help reduce breathing problems after surgery to remove part of the lung, known as anatomical lung resections. After such surgeries, patients often face complications related to mucus buildup in the airways. Currently, doctors use various methods to manage this, but they believe that using a small, flexible camera (bronchoscope) to clear mucus right after surgery might be more effective. This method allows for a thorough cleaning of the airways without causing discomfort to the patient.
To participate in this trial, you should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have undergone a specific type of lung surgery called pulmonary lobectomy. You will be asked to give your written consent before joining. If you take part, you can expect to have the bronchoscopy procedure done after your surgery, which aims to help you recover better by reducing the risk of respiratory complications. It's important to note that this trial is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could help improve care for future lung surgery patients.
