ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at ways to help doctors predict and prevent complications that can occur after thyroid surgery, specifically total thyroidectomy. The study focuses on using continuous and intermittent neuromonitoring (a technique to monitor nerve function) and measuring parathormone (a hormone related to calcium levels) during the surgery. By doing this, researchers hope to learn how to better manage risks such as nerve damage and low calcium levels after the operation.
If you are scheduled for a total thyroidectomy at the University Hospital in Nancy, you may be eligible to participate in this trial. The only requirement is that you agree to take part in the study. As a participant, you can expect to have your nerve function and parathormone levels monitored during your surgery, which may help improve your recovery and reduce the chance of complications. This trial is currently recruiting and welcomes patients of all genders. Your involvement could contribute to important findings that may benefit future patients undergoing similar surgeries.
