ClinConnect Summary
The "Twins Born in Guangzhou" study, also known as the 2-BIG study, is a research project focused on understanding how genes and the environment can affect the health of twins from birth to 18 years old. The study aims to investigate issues like childhood obesity, immune development, and brain development by collecting information about the twins' family, lifestyle, and surroundings. Researchers will also gather biological samples, such as blood and tissue, from the twins and their parents to help with their research.
To be part of this study, families must have live twins born at the Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center and plan to stay in Guangzhou for at least three years. It's important that there is baseline information available from the pregnancy. Participants can expect to provide various types of information and samples over the years, contributing valuable data that could lead to better health outcomes for children. This study is currently looking for participants, and families who meet the criteria are encouraged to consider joining.
