ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how certain white blood cells, called monocytes, from people with type 2 diabetes might affect blood pressure, especially in those who have low levels of vitamin D. The researchers want to find out if these cells release hormones that could raise blood pressure in individuals who are both diabetic and have high blood pressure.

To be eligible for this study, participants should be between 25 and 80 years old, have type 2 diabetes, and either have low vitamin D levels (less than 20 ng/ml) or higher levels (more than 30 ng/ml). They should also have controlled blood pressure within specific limits. Participants can expect to undergo tests to measure their blood pressure and vitamin D levels. This trial is currently recruiting, and it’s open to all genders. If you’re interested, it’s a great opportunity to contribute to understanding how vitamin D and immune responses might relate to heart health in diabetes.
