ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of special compression garments to help patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a condition where blood clots form in the deep veins of the legs. The trial compares two groups: one group will wear a high-pressure non-elastic compression garment called Circaid, while the other group will not wear any compression garment. Researchers want to see if wearing the Circaid garment will help reduce pain and swelling in the legs more quickly and lower the chances of developing post-thrombotic syndrome—a common complication after DVT—within six months.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between 18 and 80 years old, diagnosed with acute DVT in the lower leg, and experiencing symptoms for less than two weeks. The study is looking for outpatients who have not had any previous history of DVT and who can walk. Participants can expect to wear the compression garment for the duration of the study and will be monitored for changes in their symptoms. This research is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to provide valuable insights into better ways to manage DVT and its complications.
