ClinConnect Summary

The German Keratoplasty Registry study is looking at the trends in corneal transplantation, which is a surgery to replace a damaged or diseased cornea (the clear front part of the eye) with a healthy one. This research aims to gather information on how many of these surgeries are being done in Germany, the techniques used, and the reasons for the surgeries. The study is ongoing, and they are currently recruiting participants who have undergone any type of corneal transplant since 2001.

If you or a family member have had a corneal transplant in Germany, you may be eligible to participate in this study. All ages from one year to 100 years are welcome to join, as long as you’ve had a corneal transplant. If you decide to participate, you can expect to provide some information about your surgery and health, which will help researchers understand how these procedures are evolving over time. This study is important for improving future treatments and outcomes for patients needing corneal transplants.
