ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called the Human Upper Extremity Allotransplantation Follow-Up Protocol, is focused on studying the safety and effectiveness of a new procedure where patients receive a transplanted arm or hand. This procedure is becoming more common, and researchers at The Johns Hopkins Hand/Arm Transplantation Team want to collect important information from patients who have already undergone this surgery. By tracking patient progress and experiences, they aim to improve the procedure and understand how it affects quality of life over time.

To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 5 years post-surgery and can be men or women of any age. They must also agree to provide samples for research, like biopsies, and follow specific treatments to prevent their body from rejecting the transplant. The study is currently looking for volunteers who want to contribute to this important research. Participants can expect to regularly share their health experiences, which will help advance knowledge in this exciting medical field.
