ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how working together with family members can help improve recovery for stroke survivors who have spatial neglect. Spatial neglect is a condition where a person has difficulty paying attention to one side of their body after a stroke, even though they can see just fine. The trial will involve family members actively participating with the healthcare team during the rehabilitation process to see if this collaboration can lead to better recovery outcomes.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to have had a right-sided stroke, be functionally independent before the stroke, and show signs of moderate to severe spatial neglect. They must also be able to understand and follow instructions in English and live with a family member who will also take part in the study. Participants can expect to engage in rehabilitation activities alongside their family member, and the study is currently recruiting individuals aged 65 to 74. This is an exciting opportunity to explore how family support can make a difference in recovery after a stroke.
