ClinConnect Summary
The KAP Asynchrony Survey is a clinical trial that aims to understand how healthcare professionals, like doctors and nurses, feel about and manage a situation called patient-ventilator asynchrony. This happens when a patient’s breathing doesn’t match the way a mechanical ventilator is working, which can make it harder for patients to breathe comfortably. By using a web-based survey, the researchers hope to gather information on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of those working in intensive care units (ICUs) regarding this important issue.
To participate in this study, healthcare professionals need to currently work in an ICU as a physician, nurse, or respiratory therapist. If they choose to take part, they will fill out the survey online, but they need to answer at least 80% of the questions to be included. The trial is currently looking for participants of all genders, specifically those aged 65 to 74. This research is important because it could help improve how patients are cared for on ventilators, leading to better outcomes for those experiencing respiratory difficulties.
