ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of a special device called a duodenal prosthesis, which is used to treat narrowing (stenosis) in the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. This narrowing can cause problems like difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) and is often associated with certain types of tumors. The trial aims to see how well these prostheses work over a period of six years for patients who have experienced symptoms related to this condition.
To participate in the trial, individuals should be between 65 and 74 years old and must have had symptomatic duodenal stenosis treated with a duodenal prosthesis from 2010 to 2017. It's important to note that people with benign (non-cancerous) stenosis or those who have used a covered metallic prosthesis are not eligible to join. Participants can expect regular follow-ups to assess how well the treatment is working and to monitor their symptoms. This trial could provide valuable information on the long-term benefits of this treatment option for those affected by duodenal stenosis.
