ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a procedure called cold snare polypectomy, which is a method used to remove growths called adenomas from the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine) in patients with a condition known as Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP). FAP is a genetic condition that leads to the development of many polyps (abnormal growths) in the intestines, which can increase the risk of cancer. The researchers are collecting information from patients who have been diagnosed with FAP and are already being monitored for their condition.
To participate in the trial, individuals must have a confirmed diagnosis of FAP and be able to provide informed consent, meaning they understand what the study involves. This includes patients of all genders between the ages of 18 and 75 who are already undergoing regular check-ups for their condition. However, those with certain health issues, such as known blockages in the intestine or who are pregnant, cannot take part. Participants in the study can expect to undergo the cold snare polypectomy procedure and have their experiences and outcomes recorded to help improve future treatments for FAP.
