ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of a special blue light therapy to treat women with bacterial vaginosis (BV), a common infection that affects the female genital area. The study aims to see if this blue light can effectively kill the bacteria causing BV and help improve the symptoms. Women aged 18 to 65 who have been diagnosed with BV can participate in the trial, but those with certain health issues, like heart disease or pregnancy, cannot join.
Participants in the study will receive the blue light treatment and will be examined by a gynecologist both before and after the therapy to assess their condition. They’ll also complete questionnaires about their symptoms and any changes they notice. The researchers hope that this new treatment will not only eliminate the infection but also reduce the chances of it coming back in the future. If you're eligible and looking for a new treatment option for BV, this trial could be a good opportunity to consider.
