ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the hormone progesterone behaves during early pregnancy and how it might be linked to the health of the vaginal and uterine microbiome in women undergoing assisted reproductive techniques, like in vitro fertilization (IVF). Specifically, the researchers want to find out when progesterone levels start to rise in pregnant women after they have had their embryos frozen and then transferred. They also aim to understand how changes in the vaginal and uterine microbiome might affect pregnancy outcomes.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be women aged 18 to 45 who are about to undergo the transfer of cryopreserved (frozen) embryos. Unfortunately, those who have certain uterine abnormalities or are part of a fresh IVF cycle cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to have some blood tests and samples taken from the vaginal area. These will help researchers learn more about progesterone levels and the microbiome to better understand their roles in pregnancy. The study is currently seeking participants, so if you meet the criteria and are interested, it could be a valuable opportunity to contribute to important research in fertility.
