ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Adaptive Response to Intervention (RTI) for Students With ADHD, is studying how effective different support strategies are for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The main goal is to see if specific classroom interventions, known as Tier 1 and Tier 2 strategies, can help students with ADHD perform better in school. If children don’t respond to the initial strategies, the study will explore whether using stronger interventions or medication works better for them.
To participate in this study, children need to be between grades 1 and 5 and must have a diagnosis of ADHD. However, children who have had successful treatment with medication in the past or who are currently receiving special education services may not be eligible. Those chosen for the trial will be assigned to one of two groups: one will follow the usual school support methods, while the other will use the RTI approach, starting with general classroom strategies and adding more targeted support if needed. This study aims to provide valuable information for teachers and schools to better assist students with ADHD.
