ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how nutritional supplements can help patients with Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI), a serious condition that affects blood flow to the legs and can lead to pain and even amputation. Many patients with CLI also struggle with malnutrition, which means they may not be getting the nutrients they need to heal properly. The study will involve giving these patients nutritional supplements before and after their vascular surgery to see if it helps improve their overall health and recovery. Researchers will check patients' nutrition levels through lab tests and a simple hand grip strength test to measure their physical function.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must have a diagnosis of Critical Limb Ischemia. However, pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as those with severe kidney disease or on dialysis, cannot participate. The study is currently recruiting participants aged between 65 and 159 years, and it welcomes individuals of all genders. If you take part, you can expect to receive nutritional support during your surgical journey, which might help you recover better and improve your health after surgery.
