ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a specific exercise program for people who have had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) placed in their heart. An ICD is a device that helps prevent sudden cardiac arrest by delivering shocks to the heart if it detects dangerous rhythms. The goal of the study is to see if participating in this exercise program can improve the health and well-being of ICD users.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have received an ICD for either preventing a heart problem or because they already experienced one. They should be able to walk on their own for a short time each day, understand and communicate in English, and have a phone to stay in touch for six months. However, individuals with certain serious health issues, recent heart problems, or who are pregnant cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to engage in a guided exercise program while contributing to important research that could help others in the future.
