ClinConnect Summary

The INDOMAP Trial is studying whether a medication called indomethacin can help treat acute pancreatitis (AP), which is a painful inflammation of the pancreas. The trial aims to find out if giving this medicine early on can lower the risk of serious complications and improve patients' recovery. The researchers are looking for adults aged 18 to 80 who are diagnosed with acute pancreatitis based on specific symptoms and tests, like abdominal pain and elevated enzyme levels in their blood.

If you or someone you know is considering participating in this trial at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, it's important to know that participants will be closely monitored while receiving treatment. However, certain individuals may not be eligible, such as those with kidney problems, active bleeding in the stomach, or those who have recently taken specific medications. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it could provide valuable information about how indomethacin works in treating acute pancreatitis.
