ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how the quality of life is affected in patients with thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer before and after surgery. Although many people with thyroid cancer live long lives, some studies suggest that their quality of life may not be as good as expected, especially compared to the general population. The goal of this study is to compare the quality of life of patients undergoing surgery for thyroid issues, to see if it is affected more by the diagnosis of cancer or by the surgery itself.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be planning to have a specific type of surgery for thyroid issues at Oslo University Hospital, and they should have certain test results indicating a possible cancer diagnosis. Participants will fill out questionnaires about their quality of life before their surgery, and again six and twelve months afterward. This study is open to adults aged 18 and older, and it aims to provide valuable insights into how thyroid conditions and their treatments impact daily life.
