ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is examining whether patients with head injuries who are taking antiplatelet inhibitors (medications that prevent blood clots) need to undergo a CT scan to check for brain bleeding (cerebral hemorrhage). Currently, if a patient meets certain guidelines set by NICE (a health organization), they usually get a CT scan, but there's some debate about whether this is always necessary, especially for patients with minor head injuries.
To participate in the trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, have a head injury, and have a good level of consciousness (measured by a Glasgow score of 13 to 15). You also need to be currently taking antiplatelet inhibitors. If you join the study, you’ll help researchers learn if a CT scan is truly needed for patients like you, which could change how doctors decide to use these scans in the future.
