ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the "Influenza Associated Aspergillosis In-depth Investigation," is studying how the immune system and lung health are affected in patients with severe pneumonia caused by influenza compared to those with pneumonia not caused by influenza. The researchers want to understand the differences in how these two groups of patients respond when they are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and admitted to the ICU with breathing difficulties. If you have been diagnosed with influenza, you would be part of the influenza group. If your doctor confirms that you do not have influenza, you would be part of the control group. Participants will undergo various tests and evaluations to help researchers gather important information about these conditions. It's important to note that pregnant women and individuals under 18 cannot participate in this study.
