ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a medication called betamethasone (known by the brand name Betapred®) to see if it can help reduce pain and nausea after tonsil removal surgery, also known as a tonsillectomy. Researchers want to find out if giving this medicine before surgery can make the recovery process easier for patients by lowering the chances of feeling sick or experiencing pain afterward.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 12 years old and scheduled for a planned tonsillectomy. However, you won't be eligible if you have certain conditions, such as diabetes that requires insulin, serious stomach issues, or if you are pregnant. If you join the trial, you will receive the medication before your surgery and be monitored to see how well it works in helping you recover. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you think you might be eligible, it could be a good opportunity to help improve care for future tonsillectomy patients.
