ClinConnect Summary

The clinical trial titled "Sacral Neuromodulation as Treatment for Chronic Constipation" is exploring whether low-level laser therapy can help people with severe chronic constipation that does not respond to other treatments. This study is designed to see if this therapy can provide more benefits than risks for patients struggling with this condition. It is currently recruiting participants and is open to people aged between 21 and 65 years, regardless of gender.

To participate, individuals must have severe chronic constipation and have undergone a specific test called high-resolution colonic manometry, which shows problems with how their colon and rectum work together. However, not everyone can join; for example, pregnant individuals, those with certain medical conditions like cancer, or those who are sensitive to light cannot participate. Participants in this trial will receive low-level laser therapy and will be monitored to see how well it helps their constipation. This study is particularly important as it could lead to new treatment options for those who have not found relief from traditional methods.
