ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving how doctors communicate with families who are facing the possibility of an extremely premature birth, which is when a baby is born before 28 weeks of pregnancy. The aim is to train healthcare providers, like maternal-fetal medicine specialists and neonatologists, using new methods that help them better understand and address the needs and concerns of the families. This includes using clear language that families prefer and developing strong communication skills to build trust and partnership throughout the process.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a pregnant woman between 22 and 25 weeks along, who speaks English, and is facing the possibility of delivering early. If you have a partner, they can participate too. Healthcare providers involved in this trial include doctors and nurses from specific hospitals. Participants can expect to engage in educational sessions aimed at enhancing the support and counseling they receive during this challenging time, ultimately improving the experience for both families and medical teams.
