ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Faecal Analyses in Spondyloarthritis Therapy," is looking at how the bacteria in our intestines, known as the intestinal microbiome, may change when patients with certain types of arthritis, specifically spondyloarthropathies and ankylosing spondylitis, receive treatment. Researchers want to see if these changes in gut bacteria relate to how well the treatment works. Participants will be studied at two different times to track these changes and their response to therapy.
To join the trial, you need to meet specific criteria, like having a diagnosis that matches certain guidelines for spondyloarthropathy and starting treatment with a medication called TNF-inhibitor. People who have issues understanding the trial, a history of alcohol abuse, or certain other medical conditions may not be eligible. If you participate, you can expect to provide samples and possibly help researchers understand the important link between gut health and treatment success for arthritis. This study is currently recruiting participants aged between 65 and 74, and it welcomes individuals of all genders.
